21 Travellers can reach foreign ministry 24/7 at +31 247 247 247

Foreign minister Bert Koenders and travel expert Floortje Dessing have launched a new central helpline for travellers. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs can now be reached 24 hours a day, seven days a week at +31 247 247 247 for practical travel tips and assistance. Travellers abroad can also contact the Ministry online and via Twitter. It is estimated that about 3,000 people per day will use the new services.

22 Smart Cities business opportunities

Are you interested in meeting Dutch counterparts active in sustainable urban development, mobility and Smart Cities solutions in general? A delegation of Dutch companies active in the Smart Cities sector are looking for business opportunities with Danish & Swedish counterparts through partnerships, investments, exchange of technology and knowledge, co-creation and other forms of joint developments. The delegation will be in Malmö from 23-25 November.

23 Dutch trade delegation visits Sweden

In cooperation with the Netherlands Embassy in Stockholm, the Dutch Centre for Trade Promotion (NCH), the Task Force Health Care and the Swedish Chamber of Commerce organize a trade mission to Stockholm for 15 Dutch companies active in the fields of e-health, medical devices, rehabilitation or hospital construction. Also the Dutch Chamber has contributed to the program. The delegation will be in Stockholm from 21-23 September.

24 Budget Day (Prince's Day)

On the third Tuesday in September (Prince's Day), the Minister of Finance presents the National Budget and the Budget Memorandum to the House of Representatives.

25 New Ambassador

On Thursday 3 September, the new ambassador to Sweden, Ines Coppoolse, presented her letters of credence to HM King Carl XVI Gustaf.

26 Green driving in Amsterdam

During spring 2015 the editor in chief of the Swedish Volkswagen Magazine (with about 155 000 readers per issue) contacted our embassy for input for a spread in the special eco-edition on Holland as a leading country when it comes to electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids. You can now find a copy of the inspiring article (in Swedish) on our website.

27 limited availability consular section

Due to the summer holidays, the consular department at the embassy will have limited opening hours from July 27th to august 21st. Please consider this when planning a visit for paspoort renewal, visa applications and all other queries for the consular department.

29 The Netherlands at Ekotransport - presentations now available

On the 28th of April the conference Ekotransport 2030 - a meeting place for all who wish to participate in the transition to future transport solutions - was arranged for the first time. This year’s focus country was the Netherlands. The presentations from the breakfast seminar are now available on our website.

30 Dutch speaker at Färgfabriken: Beyond car hegemony

On Friday the 17th of April, Färgfabriken hosts a morning seminar with short inspirational talks, focusing on solutions for equal and climate-friendly transport. Dutch architect Stefan Bendiks will talk about infrastructure as expression of societies, cycling and public space. This seminar is part of Experiment Stockholm, an on-going project, which since 2010 has been examining, experimenting and asking questions about the development and transition of the city of Stockholm.
