12 The City at Eye Level 19 April 2016

The City at Eye Level is a book, an open source learning network, and a program for improving cities, streets and places all over the world. Attend the book launch at Färgfabriken on the 19th of April to get introduced to the network and to get inspired on how to create great streets.

13 Advisory referendum – reaction Dutch government

On 6 april 2016 an advisory referendum was held in the Netherlands on the EU-association agreement with Ukraine. The preliminary outcome shows that the required threshold for a valid outcome of a turn-out of 30% or more was reached, with a majority of people voting against.

14 Cycling seminar 14 April 2016

Life is nicer when you’re healthy and feel well; cycling is a part of this! The Netherlands Embassy, Trafikutredningsbyrån and Stockholms Stad arrange a cycling seminar in cooperation with the Dutch Cycling Embassy. During the seminar we will outline how cycling fits in a strategy for active living, joy and economic prosperity in the Stockholm region and beyond.

15 Photo competition

Win a weekend to the Netherlands with a cycling related photo! Publish your photo between 15 March and 30 April on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook and use the hashtag #CFE2016. The photo competition is arranged in cooperation with the Netherlands Board of Tourism & Conventions in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden to highlight the Cycling Festival Europe.

16 Brussels attacks

Following a number of attacks in Brussels on Tuesday morning, Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bert Koenders have been in contact with their Belgian colleagues. Both sent their condolences, expressed the Netherlands’ solidarity with Belgium and offered practical support.

17 Cycling Festival Europe

As a cycling nation with more bicycles (22,5 million) than people (17 million) and with our cycling culture in our DNA, the Netherlands is offering a Cycling Festival to Europe, providing a stage to the growing cycling culture in European cities and countries.

18 Circular Leadership in the Netherlands

On the 22nd of March, ESAM and CradleNET arrange an inspirational seminar about circular leadership for sustainability strategists in Sweden in cooperation with the Netherlands embassy in Stockholm. During this day we will give an insight into how companies and municipalities in the Netherlands are working to implement the concept of circular economy.

19 Cycling Festival Europe

On Valentine’s Day the Netherlands, world cycling country number one, will present a “We love cycling”-campaign as a declaration of love to the bicycle and to launch Cycling Festival Europe. The festival will take place from 14 April till 30 June 2016 in almost all countries of the European Union.

20 ‘Made in Holland Tech Day’ in Gothenburg

Thirty-four leading innovative Dutch companies in the automotive supply industry will exhibit at the ‘Made in Holland Tech Day’ being organised by RAI Industry Platform on 2-3 February 2016. This year’s one-day event will be held at the Volvo Hallen in Gothenburg. The Tech Day will see exhibitors from the Netherlands’ vibrant automotive sector present their innovations to the senior executives of Volvo-Car-Truck- Bus-Equipment & Penta.
