March 20, 2012 On Tuesday 20 March the recipient of the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award (ALMA), the world’s largest award for children’s and young adult literature, was announced. This year, 184 candidates from 66 countries were nominated and the jury chose author Guus Kuijer from the Netherlands!
March 12, 2012 The relations between the Netherlands and Sweden go back as far as the time of the Hansa trade treaty and were given a powerful boost due to the rise of Amsterdam as a world-harbour, in combination with Sweden’s prosperous natural resources like copper and iron.
